These terms explain how bookings, payments, cancellations and onboard responsibilities work with Nomad Sailors. All amounts are in USD, and all times are Panama time.
Quotes and bookings
Availability must be validated before dates are held. The usual pre-reservation hold is 72 hours from the moment you tell us you want to book. Your booking is confirmed in writing only after payment is verified and the booking contract is signed. There is no general minimum number of nights.
Payments and separate charges
For bookings made 10 days or more before boarding, pay 50% to reserve. Pay the remaining 50% by bank transfer no later than 10 days before boarding, or in cash at check-in if that cash option was agreed.
For bookings made less than 10 days before boarding, bank-transfer bookings require 100% payment. If the balance will be paid in cash, pay 20% to reserve and the remaining 80% in cash on the charter day. The 20% reservation option applies only to bookings made less than 10 days before boarding with a cash balance.
Transfers and Guna community entry charges are coordinated and charged separately from the charter.
Your responsibilities
Give us accurate names, passport details and any medical or dietary information the crew needs before departure.
Arrive at the agreed meeting point on time.
Follow the captain’s safety instructions at all times. The captain has final authority over the boat, the route and any activity, and may stop an activity or return to port if conditions or behaviour make it unsafe.
Respect the Guna Yala community, its rules and its environment: no drones without permission, no removal of coral, shells or sand, and no waste left on the islands.
Guests are responsible for damage they cause to the boat or its equipment beyond normal wear.
Weather, itineraries and changes
Routes depend on weather and sea conditions. The captain may change anchorages, the order of the itinerary or activities for safety. If the contracted boat cannot be used, we will offer a boat of equal or better quality, subject to availability. If you do not accept the alternative, we will refund the money paid for the charter.
Health, safety and insurance
Sailing and water sports carry inherent risks. Tell us about any condition that could affect your safety at sea and follow the captain’s safety instructions. Children must be supervised by the adults in their group. Travel insurance is not mandatory, but it is recommended.
Cancellations, refunds and credit
If you cancel at least two months before the original boarding date, your deposit is refunded. If you cancel less than two months before boarding, there is no cash refund. The amount paid becomes credit valid for 12 months from the original boarding date, subject to availability and the rate applicable to the new booking.
Photos with permission
With your permission, we may share photos or videos of your trip on our site and social media. Tell the crew if you prefer not to appear.
Personal belongings
Take care of your personal belongings on board and ashore. Keep valuables secure and protect phones, cameras and other items from water.
