BEST TIME TO Visit SAN BLAS

Discover the ultimate 2026 Weather & Season Guide. From the trade winds of January to the glassy mirrors of August, San Blas is a year-round paradise.

100% Hurricane-Free Zone

"Unlike other Caribbean destinations, San Blas sits south of the hurricane belt, making it one of the safest sailing grounds in the world at any time of year."

THE DRY SEASON DECEMBER – APRIL

The Vibe

Constant sunshine, clear blue skies, and a vibrant social atmosphere. This is the High Season of San Blas.

Sailing Conditions

Stronger "Alisios" trade winds (15–25 knots) make this a paradise for sailing purists who want to travel 100% under wind power.

SEASON OF CALM MAY – NOVEMBER

The Mirror Effect

Winds die down, leaving the water glassy and calm. Perfect for those worried about seasickness. The ocean becomes a giant pool.

Maximum Visibility

Without wind to agitate the water, snorkeling visibility is at its peak. Best time to see deep reefs and vibrant starfish.

The Rainfall Myth

Rain comes in short, intense bursts in the late afternoon. Privacy is at its maximum; popular spots become your private island.
