3 nights / 3 days

Three nights is not a compromise. It's a threshold.

The islands you see on Instagram are, most of them, an hour from the mainland and full of speedboats by mid-morning. Three nights is the first length that gets you properly beyond them — far enough east that by the second morning the only boat in the anchorage is yours, and long enough that the third day doesn't feel like packing.

You board at ten and you're somewhere quiet by lunch. From there it's reef, sand, and a crew who already knows which cay is empty this week.

Two routes, one trip

Quick Escape runs one of two ways, and your captain picks on the morning of day one based on wind and swell:

The western route — Cayos Limones and Chichime, with a run out to the Cayos Holandeses reef. Shorter crossings, the classic postcard cays, and a first taste of the outer reef.
The eastern route — Coco Blanco, Coco Bandero and Isla Verde, with a run out to Holandeses. Longer sailing, remoter anchorages, and the cays most three-night charters never attempt.

Neither is the better one. They're the right answer to different weeks.

Day by day

Day 1 — Board and go

Aboard at 10:00 after the overland transfer from Panama City. Briefing, cabins, and underway before lunch. First anchorage chosen on the day. Afternoon in the water, first sundowner on deck.

Day 2 — The cays

A morning sail east and a full day out of the crowd. Snorkelling, kayaks through the shallows between the cays, and lunch built around whatever the fishermen brought alongside. Evening ashore on a beach with nobody on it.

Day 3 — Out to the reef

A run to the Cayos Holandeses — the outer reef of the archipelago, where the wall drops off into open Caribbean. Snorkelling in the best water of the trip, then a slow sail back west to the last anchorage.

Departure — 07:00

Coffee at anchor, then back to Cartí for the morning transfer to Panama City.

Who this is for

Groups with a tight window. Couples adding a Caribbean leg to a Panama trip. First-time sailors finding out whether they like this — most of them come back for five.

What it doesn't do

Three nights can't include the freediving course or a day with a Guna community upriver. Both need five.
