Short answer: A private San Blas honeymoon charter reserves a boat for the two of you, with its captain and crew aboard. Choose it for time together, meals prepared on board and an island-hopping route discussed with your captain. Nomad Sailors is based in Panama and operates in San Blas (Guna Yala). The right boat, comfort features and daily route are confirmed for your trip.
What private means on a crewed honeymoon charter
The boat is reserved for your group rather than shared with other paying guests. The crew remains aboard to operate the boat and prepare meals. Islands and anchorages are not privately reserved: other boats and visitors may be present, and local permissions and weather guide where you go.
If a more social trip appeals to you, a shared cabin may also be worth considering. Compare the departure dates, cabin occupancy and common areas in our private versus shared charter guide.
Choose the cabin and comfort you want
Ask about the double bed, bathroom layout, ventilation, air conditioning and power schedule on the proposed boat. Starlink and other facilities vary across the fleet. Tell us which features matter most rather than assuming every catamaran has the same equipment.
A honeymoon budget for two
As a reference checked on 16 October 2026, the Leopard 40 private-charter table lists USD 1,450 per night for the whole boat with two guests. Five nights gives a charter subtotal of USD 7,250. Return transfers, Guna community entry charges and any optional extras are added separately. This is a worked example, subject to the boat, dates and written quote, not a confirmed booking.
Our charter cost guide explains how to compare the complete trip budget.
How many nights should we choose?
Trips can start from one night. Five nights is a useful recommendation for a relaxed first visit, while shorter trips focus on closer islands and longer expeditions allow more time aboard. Review the itinerary options and agree priorities with your captain; particular islands and activities depend on conditions.
Meals and moments to plan before boarding
Share food preferences, allergies and any celebration requests before booking so the selected crew can confirm what they can provide and whether there is an extra charge. Fresh ingredients, snorkelling stops, beach time and quiet evenings aboard can shape the trip; a specific menu, empty beach or wildlife sighting should never be assumed.
Getting from Panama City to the boat
The usual road connection combines a 4×4 transfer and water taxi. A flight option can be explored where available and suitable for the itinerary. Both are coordinated separately from the charter; confirm the complete route, timing, luggage limits and cost in our arrival guide.
Frequently asked questions
Are we alone on a private charter?
You are the only paying guest group, with the crew aboard. Private charter does not mean exclusive access to an island or anchorage.
Is every boat air-conditioned?
No fleet-wide assumption applies. Confirm air conditioning, operating hours and any other essential comfort feature for the boat in your proposal.
How do we confirm the reservation?
Tell us your dates, number of nights and preferences. We check availability and provide the proposal. Confirmation follows the official booking and payment conditions.
